Polarized Range
A betting range made up of strong value hands and bluffs, with few medium-strength hands.
A polarized range contains two extremes: strong hands betting for value and weak hands betting as bluffs, while the medium-strength hands check instead. Large bets and overbets usually represent a polarized range — the bettor either has it or has nothing.
Reading whether an opponent is polarized tells you how to respond: against a polarized bettor, call with hands that beat their bluffs and fold hands that only beat other bluffs. See capped range for the opposite idea.
